The Strange Case of the Snail in a Bottle
May Donoghue discovers a partly decomposed snail in a ginger beer bottle in a cafe in Paisley, in 1928. She becomes very unwell as a result and sued for damages but with no legal precedent the case goes all the way to the House of Lords.
